Missions & Service

Our core purpose at ѧԺ calls us to develop students who are engaged in redemptive action in the world. This means they will have a desire to engage socially and for the good of others. We are designed to serve and help others, and encourage our students to be outward looking as an expression of their love for God and their love for their neighbour. Jesus’ example is the one we are called to follow.

Our Missions and Service program seeks to encourage our students to see opportunities to use their abilities, their gifts and their education to serve and minister to others

Primary School Missions and Service

Opportunities are focused on raising awareness of need in Australia and overseas and involves regular fundraising for our sponsor children through Baptist World Aid Australia.

Our Primary students love to pack Christmas shoeboxes each year for Operation Christmas Child to bless children in developing countries.

Many of our students are involved in supporting activities in their local church and community.

Secondary School Missions and Service

Secondary students visit local nursing homes to interact with the elderly and run Chapel services. Years 11 and 12 students have the opportunity to serve at Coast Shelter Restaurant helping to serve the disadvantaged in our local community. Our Year 9 students are involved in Backyard Blitz, which provides a garden make-over to assist those in need in our community. Our Year 10 students have the opportunity to teach Scripture Religious Education (SRE) in a local public school. We encourage our Secondary School students to seek to serve in their local church.

Mission in Regional Australia. Year 9 boys and girls have the unique opportunity to partner with AIM (Australian Inland Mission) in yearly mission trips, to minister to remote communities in Brewarrina and Gulargambone.

Overseas Mission. The College has a long-standing partnership with Compassion. Our students in Years 10 and 11 have the opportunity to be part of a mission team to Indonesia to see the work of Compassion. In past years our students have served on mission trips to Vietnam, Cambodia and Tonga through various Christian Ministry organisations.

Our College also has a long standing relationship with our sister school, Hofangahau College in Tonga. We have a group of GPCC teachers who deliver the New Hope Teacher Training in Tonga each year. Other mission projects are supported by the College and students as they arise.
